Third telco operator DITO Telecommunity Corp. sees revenues hitting more than P2 billion this year amid an expanding subscriber base.
“As of December 18, we reached P2 billon in revenue and so will end this fiscal year 2021 with over P2 billion in revenues. For next year, our ambition is much bigger,” DITO chief administrative officer Adel Tamayo said in a virtual briefing.
DITO has already crossed five million subscribers just nine months after its commercial launch in March.
Tamano said the telco had deployed more than 22,000 kilometers of fiber optic cables and built over 4,000 cell towers.
DITO chief technology officer Rodolfo Santiago, for his part, said the company is on track to meet its third year commitment of 70 percent population coverage by yearend.
“We are targeting a total of more than 850 cities and municipalities by the end of 2022,” Santiago said.
In its second year, DITO has committed to deliver national population coverage of 51.01 percent and minimum average broadband speed of 55 Mbps. The third technical audit is in July 2022.
