A member of the wealthy Elizalde clan has been arrested at a Davao de Oro party where agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) found P1.5 million worth of illegal drugs.

PDEA Region 11 said Revsan Ethelbert Elizalde, 33, was arrested for selling a plastic sachet of a violet capsule believed to be a party drug worth P2,000 and 1 pack of marijuana said to be worth P6,000 to a PDEA agent who acted like a buyer.

The agents literally gatecrashed a suspected drug-laced party in Mabini, Davao de Oro on Saturday, November 6.

Elizalde, a Davao City resident and medical representative of a pharmaceutical firm, met the agent at a resort he was staying in Barangay Pindasan, where he was caught with 16 others, some of which were caught in the act of a pot session.

Drug suspects Eana Faye Marie Olea, Bryk Jiordan Archival, Kurk Bryan Tiubot, and Paolo Guerero were arrested as Elizalde’s cohorts, while individuals named Jomark Aping, Ariel Bueno, Edel Caballero, Ronald Chuan, Fritz Dinopol, Tom Jhun Doblas, Mark Christopher Isip, Janlord Masong, Christopher Prudente, Jesus Ragas III, Giovanni Tabanao and Jason Viduya were caught by PDEA during their drug session on site.

Prior to the arrest, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio’s chief information officer Jefry Tupas was also in the same beach venue that night, but left after eating dinner with two companions, one of which was his boyfriend. However, he was caught in one photo with Elizalde, who apparently was a friend, Tupas explained in a statement.

Recovered from the scene were about 200 grams of suspected dried marijuana leaves worth P24,000, three pieces of shabu packets, and nine plastic bottles of liquid party drugs.

The most expensive haul was 722 suspected party drug capsules estimated to cost P1.227 million, along with 77 pieces of suspected LSD pegged at P130,000. Energy drinks were also seized.

The suspects are currently in custody at the National Bureau of Investigation detention facility in the region, and will be charged for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
