According to the survey, nearly a third of food that was not prepared at home last year was ordered through food delivery. The rest of the demand was completed through dining out and takeaway.

One significant factor in this result was the onset of community quarantines and lockdowns imposed by the government at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic where most restaurants were limited to pick up and deliveries.

The survey also showed that this trend would continue among the key demographic of 18-34 years old with 85 percent of respondents expressing confidence they would continue with the practice in the future.
