Philippine Trust Co. (Philtrust), the banking arm of the Yap family, has recruited top executives of Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co. and Sterling Bank.

The Philtrust board chaired by Basilio Yap approved the appointment of Betty T. Tiu as vice president to head its Mandaluyong branch and Marife N. Rudio vice president to its credit and loans division. Both started working for Philtrust in October.

Tiu used to head Metrobank’s 21 branches in Mandaluyong and Greenhills area. The University of Santos Tomas alum is a Certified Public Accountant. She also has n MBA degree from De La Salle University.

Like Tiu, Rudio is also a graduate of UST, major in Actuarial Science. She also has an MBA degree from the same university. She used to work for Sterling Bank as head of remedial management and credit risk.
