Filipinos may want to keep face shields handy even though wearing one in public is no longer required.

Cabinet Secretary and Presidential spokesman Karlo Nograles announced Friday (Nov. 19) that employers and business owners may still enforce a face shield mandate within the workplace despite the Inter-Agency Task Force decision to make its use mandatory in areas under Alert Levels 1, 2, and 3.

“Puwede pong i-require ng mga employers ang mga empleyado nila mag-face shield sa kanilang workplaces, at pwede din pong i-require ng private establishments ang mga customers nila na mag-face shield,” he said in a Palace briefing.

Existing rules only require the wearing of face shields on top of masks in hospitals and similar medical facilities.
