‘Recon unit’ mystery: BDO clients fume over unauthorized loss of money from accounts

Two netizens are up in arms after losing money from their BDO bank accounts to a “recon unit” they know nothing about.

Facebook users Connie Tantoy Badong and She Buenavista Colada have both complained about several unauthorized transactions in their bank accounts that cost them a few thousand pesos, which they want to take back ASAP.

In two debit transactions, Badong lost P3,745.05 and P5,909.06 to what is called the “RECON UNIT” based on her app log.

“Recon unit?Ambisyosa ka? Pinaghirapan ko pera kakaltas ka bigla? Sino nakaranas?,” she wrote about the bank owned by the bilyonaryo Sy family.

“Anu na bdo? Alam ko kung ano mga pina debit or binayaran ko kahapon pero may 2,616.30 nakaltas sa account ko. Nakakatakot naman bakit ganito? Diba dapat safe ung account namin sa inyo,” Colada also said in a separate post.

“Mabuti nalang talaga nagccheck ako palagi ng account ko. Kaya kayo i-check mo mga account everytime papa debit kayo or mag transfer kayo online kasi grabe nakakatakot.”
