The abogados of Julian Ongpin have asked the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to cancel the subpoena issued to him for an appearance at its headquarters on October 6.

Ongpin’s abogados said the 29-year-old already complied with another subpoena issued on October 4 so he can shed light on the death of his girlfriend, artist Bree Jonson.

“Without being disrespectful to Department Order No. 224, s. 2021, we wish to manifest that in view of the earlier September 28 subpoena which Me. Ongpin heeded to yesterday and whose purpose he complied with fully by answering completely all questions propounded to him by your personnel from Manila Head Office, Mr. Ongpin has satisfied the NBI subpoena, abogado Vicente Verdadero said.

He added that Ongpin already submitted himself to a three-hour inquiry last Monday.

“Therefore, the second subpoena is no longer required,” Verdadero said.

The son of bilyonaryo Bobby Ongpin is a person of interest in the death of Jonson, whose lifeless body was found in the room she shared with Ongpin at the Flotsam and Jetsam Hostel on September 18.
