Globe Telecom Inc. has completed the upgrade of its network infrastructure from 3G technology to 4G LTE in Bulacan and Cavite.

As of September 9, the Ayala-led telco had completed 322 site upgrades in cities and towns in Bulacan. It was also able to install two 5G towers in Meycauayan and one in Plaridel.

“Bulacan remains one of our priority targets for expansion and modernization. By upgrading our network to 4G LTE and slowly bringing in 5G, we are optimistic that more customers in the province will experience the benefits and advantages of these latest technologies now available to them,” said Joel Agustin, Globe SVP for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.

Globe also completed 154 site upgrades in Alfonso, Amadeo, Gen. E. Aguinaldo, Indang, Magallanes, Maragondon, Mendez, Tagaytay City, Silang and Ternate in Cavite.

“It is important for our customers to upgrade their 3G SIM cards to the 5G-ready 4G LTE SIMs to maximize their mobile experience. Likewise, using 4G LTE capable phones will complement the new SIM cards. We are reminding our customers that updating their SIM card is FREE and they will keep their old numbers. Customers can also check online the 4G LTE capable devices that are available at Globe Stores,” he said.

Globe’s relentless efforts to improve the country’s state of connectivity has led to it being the most consistent mobile network for two consecutive quarters in 2021, as verified by Ookla.
