In a statement, the DA said Adriano, who previously served as senior adviser of Agriculture Secretary William Dar, has been tasked to oversee the agency’s policy formulation, planning, and research.

Adriano served as the consultant to the private sector Fisheries and Aquaculture Board of the Philippines Inc. led by meat importer Jesus Chua Cham.

Adriano pushed for the importation of as much as 200,000 metric tons of fish as early as June which was quickly supported by National Economic and Development Authority secretary Karl Kendrick Chua.

Former DA assistant secretary Kristine Evangelista was also named undersecretary for consumer and political affairs to replace Ernesto Gonzales who retired.
Evangelista was in charge of agribusiness and marketing. She will now oversee consumer affairs and political affairs.

DA undersecretary Rodolfa Vicerra who used to handle the policy, planning, and research will now supervise the DA’s attached agencies. He will also serve as liaison for Congress and the Senate. fish
