
Pagcor has tapped the Philippine National Police Cybercrime division, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Department of Information and Communication Technology, and the top telecom providers for help to take down these sites to protect gamblers.

“The public is advised not to engage in any gaming activity from unlicensed E-Sabong operators and unregistered E-Sabong websites to avoid being duped and cheated of your hard-earned money,” said Pagcor.
The illegal operators hack legitimate E-Sabong games, air these on their links or websites while collecting bets from unwitting players. The illegal websites use URLs similar to official websites of legitimate E-Sabong operators.

The four legitimate E-Sabong operators: “Pitmasters Live” under Lucky 8 Star Quest of Charlie “Atong” Ang; “Sabong Express” under Belvedere Vista of Bong Pineda; “Sabong International PH” under Visayas Cockers Club of former congressman Albee Benitez; and “Encuentro Live!” of party-list congressman Patrick Antonio.
Pagcor has so far generated more than P1 billion since approving the first E-Sabong operator in May 2021.
Pagcor said the various quarantine restrictions imposed all over the country have spurred some Filipinos to play online games, specificallyE-Sabong, to “relieve their stress, boredom and fatigue, while others are looking for ways to earn an income due to the economic hardship we are all facing.”
But Pagcor urged gamblers to treat online games, especially E-Sabong, “only as a form of entertainment and not as a way to make money.”
